Due to the winter weather advisory and forecast for Monday, Stokes County Schools will operate on a remote learning day on Monday, December 8, 2025. Students should follow the remote learning plans provided by their teachers. If you have questions about expectations or assignments, please contact your child’s teacher or school principal for guidance. Staff should refer to communication from their supervisors regarding reporting expectations. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tomorrow night will be rescheduled. When a new date is determined, an announcement will be made. Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our students. Please stay safe and warm as this weather system moves through our area.

Mustang Families,

Our candy fundraiser has been extended to 10/16 and we currently have 32 boxes remaining to sell. We sincerely appreciate your support. There are still 3 golden tickets remaining! Please call the school to reserve a box or send a note in. In a surely regrettable move, Mr. Collishaw has agreed to let students at GES bedazzle his head if we meet our goal of selling all boxes.

Good evening Mustang Families. This is your proud principal, Mr. Collishaw, here with our weekly update. First, I would like to thank you all for attending our Parent Playbook Night and the Future Saura Night last week as we celebrate our community. This week, forms will be going home for our mass hearing screenings. Please be sure to sign and return with your child before Friday. For our fundraiser, we have 3 golden tickets left and approximately 40 boxes of candy left to sell. We appreciate your help in raising money for our school and your continued support.
Lastly, progress reports will go home this Tuesday, September 16th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions about progress reports. That is all for the week ahead. Let’s make it a great week at GES, and as always, GO MUSTANGS.

Good afternoon mustangs,

This is Principal Collishaw here with a couple of reminders for our community building events tomorrow, September 11th, and Friday, September 12th. Tomorrow from 5:30-7:00 will be our parent playbook night. If you have not confirmed your attendance with your child’s teacher already, please be sure to do so. We look forward to working together to help our students succeed. Friday, September 12th, South Stokes High School will be honoring students from Germanton Elementary at halftime of their football game. Please come out and join us to support our friends at South Stokes. All GES Students will get in free with a paying adult. Thank you all for your attention to these events and we hope to see you there.

Reminder of our upcoming events on 9/11 and 9/12! It is a week full of community at GES with parent playbooks and partnership with our high school. We have loved having our athletes at South come and assist with morning drop offs this week and look forward to supporting them Friday night.

We have our first PTSO meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 2nd, at 5:30 in the media center and encourage any parent that would like to join our supportive PTSO to join. We have kicked off our candy fundraiser this year and want to thank you all for your work in helping us raise money for our school. Please remember that chocolate must be picked up by a parent and cannot be sent home on buses. Please save the date for September 11th for our Parent Playbook night from 5:30-7:00, including pizza and beverages. This night is about strengthening the school family relationship and providing parents with as many resources as possible to help our students succeed. We look forward to seeing you there.
