This past Friday CGMS students enjoyed delicious cookies and hot chocolate! Thank you to the moms and dads for helping hand that out and to our gracious sponsor Kelli Cross and her business, Carolina Occupational Therapy Services!

Here is some more holiday fun from last week! We celebrated our Office Staff and School Custodians with a Christmas themed breakfast. CGMS is blessed with the BEST!

We would like to wish you a merry Christmas and happy Holidays, from our CGMS Trojan family to yours!

Mrs. Dudley's and Mrs. Joyce's classes had some winter fun making 3-D snowflakes! Students also got creative decorating doors for our competition judged by the PTO!

Pictures from our Winter band concert!
Mrs. Hall's classes also made gingerbread houses!

More holiday fun is happening here at Chestnut Grove! Ms. Selbach's classes took time to read Christmas stories to elementary students.

Ms. Selbach's 6th and 7th graders built gingerbread houses! They had to design them and "budget" for their dream house to practice adding and subtracting with decimals.

Congratulations to our Spelling Bee winner and runner up! Vincent Jurkiewicz is our winner and Kabrey Edwards is our runner up and alternate!

Don't forget that you can go ahead and purchase your yearbook for $45 until 1/23/26. After that, the price will increase.
8th grade ads are also available to design and purchase through 1/23/26. Don't miss this chance to celebrate your student!

Mrs. McDowell's classes completed a fun STEM lesson called "Snowman Stretch"!

Yesterday, Chestnut Grove Middle School was recognized as Stokes County Schools 2025 PTEC Signature School with a reception at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This honor recognizes our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, innovative practices and a strong culture of collaboration that helps every student thrive. It's a great day to be a Trojan!

We are excited for some holiday fun next week with Spirit Week!

More pictures from the CTE Winter Showcase! Thank you again for all of the support shown for this event and for the hard work put in by students and teachers to make it possible!

Due to the winter weather advisory and forecast for Monday, Stokes County Schools will operate on a remote learning day on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Students should follow the remote learning plans provided by their teachers. If you have questions about expectations or assignments, please contact your child’s teacher or school principal for guidance. Staff should refer to communication from their supervisors regarding reporting expectations.
The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tomorrow night will be rescheduled. When a new date is determined, an announcement will be made.
Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our students. Please stay safe and warm as this weather system moves through our area.

With the upcoming weather, we would like to share some tips to keep our Trojan family safe!
